Chae Yeon receives a flower from 2PM

Chae Yeon attended 2PM’s Dont Stop Can’t Stop concert yesterday and received a flower from the boys. Well kind of.

Chae Yeon, who has been busy promoting her comeback track Look Look Look, showed her support for her music industry juniors, 2PM, by attending their recent concert. She updated her Twitter with a photo and the following description,

“Confirmation shot with the flower I got at 2pm’s concert ke Although it was one I picked up as they were throwing out flowers ^^ A concert that young girls are enthusiastic about. Personally, I may not be a young girl but I had fun… Then… am I a young girl too?? ke ke It was evident that they had prepared a lot. I want a concert too!!!“

Se7en makes his comeback on Inkigayo!

Following his comeback performances on Mnet’s M! Countdown and Music Core, Se7en’s next and last visit this week for his comeback stage was today’s episode of SBS Inkigayo.

Having won #1 on a music program already in his comeback week, Se7en has been impressing netizens and fans for his live vocals.

Se7en continued to showcase his live vocals and his charisma in today’s performances as he performedDigital Bounce and his title track Better Together. Fellow YGE family member T.O.P of Big Bang was present like before to perform together with Se7en during Digital Bounce.

miss A wins Mutizen award on Inkigayo!

On today’s episode of SBS Inkigayo, artists including nominees of Take 7 performed as all the nominees are looking to win today’s Mutizen award.

Take 7 nominees who performed today include; SHINee (Lucifer), Taeyang (I Need A Girl), Son Dambi (Queen), miss A (Bad Girl Good Girl), Narsha (Bbi Ri Bba Bba), G.NA (I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Better [ft. Doojoon of BEAST]) and the returning Se7en with (Better Together).

In the end, it was miss A who managed to top the rest of the nominees of Take 7 as they won today’s Mutizen with their song Bad Girl Good Girl completing a grand slam.

Congratulations to miss A who was no doubt to be delighted at winning again as 2AM’s Jo Kwon andChangmin joined in for celebrations during the encore stage.

Performances for the August 1st episode of Inkigayo

Other than the comeback stage of Se7en, debut stage of Homme and performances for the Take 7 nominees, there were other artists who also performed on today’s episode of SBS Inkigayo to show the viewers what k-pop is all about.

Homme makes their debut on Inkigayo

Wonder Girls rock 2DT and Nobody at MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia

Earlier today at 6PM, the Wonder Girls took the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia and put on quite a show!

In front of an audience of about 15,000 people, the five girls gave an outstanding performance of a number of their songs. They opened up their performance with I Wanna and Goodbye and also performed a rock version of their hit song 2 Different Tears as well as Nobody. While the audience cheered the Wonder Girls throughout the show, it was reported that especially during their performance of Nobody, the audience excitedly sang along to their song.

In response to the Wonder Girls performance, a MTV network Asia representative stated, “Now that the Wonder Girls have gone international, they truly have the potential and charm to be the representatives for Asian pop music.” And it only seemed like yesterday that they came out with their debut track Irony.

Through tvN Gil’s Newton Chart, a poll based on the best male & female idol groups was held between July 26th and August 1st recently.

With 50% votes coming from a selection committee group, 30% from internet votes and 20% from mobile votes, 20 groups from each male & female category were selected.

Victoria and Mir show up T-Max’s Joo Chan Yang

On the most recent episode of SBS Star King, MBLAQ’s Mir, T-Max’s Joo Chan Yang, and f(x)’sVictoria showed off their flexibility not with their body nor legs, but their fingers.

As seen in the photos above, Joo Chan Yang proved that he had talent by pulling his fingers all the way back, however his so-called talent was crushed instantly as Victoria and Mir showed off their flexibility, grossing out most of the cast.

S. Korea to raise stature, widen diplomatic spectrum by hosting G-20

SEOUL, Aug. 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's hosting of a G-20 economic summit in November will mark something of a turning point in the country's diplomacy traditionally focused on resolving the North Korean nuclear crisis and managing relations with four major regional powers, officials and experts said.

   It will also provide a further boost to a "Global Korea" campaign by the Lee Myung-bak administration to enhance the nation's stature on the global stage, they said.

   The two-day summit from Nov. 11 in Seoul will be one of the largest international events to be held in South Korea and the first G-20 session to by hosted by a non-G-8 member country.

   "With about 100 days to go before the G-20 summit, preparations are in full swing in two main fields -- preparing for the event itself and coordinating the agenda with other members," Kim Yoon-kyung, spokesman at the Presidential Committee for the G-20 Summit, said.

   Last month, the committee opened the official Web site, www.seoulsummit.kr, and unveiled the slogan "Shared Growth Beyond Crisis" for the summit.

   Kim said his committee is also concentrating its efforts on raising people's awareness of the significance of hosting the world's new premier forum for international economic cooperation and drumming up public support.

   "The scene of a South Korean president chairing a meeting of leaders from the world's powers in our country will greatly boost national pride and enhance its international stature," Kim said.

   South Korea, the world's 15th largest economy, has set an ambitious goal of taking the center of the international community.

   The hosting of the G-20 meeting is a highlight of the efforts, and it is expected to provide South Korea with a chance to broaden its diplomatic base, experts say.

   "South Korea's diplomacy has traditionally placed too much emphasis on the North Korean nuclear issue and relations with four regional powers -- the U.S., China, Russia and Japan, thus neglecting economic and multilateral diplomacy," said Lee Dong-hwi, a senior researcher at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Security in Seoul.

   The G-20 is a solution to such limitations, and South Korea's role in the G-20 is a test for its Global Korea campaign, he added.

   "For South Korea, however, the upcoming summit is a high-risk and high-return event," Lee said.

   He pointed out that some 80 percent of major agenda items from the previous G-20 session in Toronto in June has been passed to the Seoul meeting for full-fledged discussions.

   As the leaders of the 20 largest industrial and emerging economies struggled to handle the euro-zone sovereign debt trouble, key issues such as bank taxes, readjustments of IMF quotas and so-called exit strategies were sidelined.

   The leaders demonstrated unprecedented unity in early sessions of the G-20 created to cope with the 2008-09 global financial crisis. As the world's economy shows signs of recovery, their cooperation has waned. They have voiced the need to adjust the pace of implementing related measures, depending on specific situations in member countries.

   In a bid to maintain momentum for global unity, South Korea has proposed two fresh agenda items -- development of poor nations and global financial safety nets aimed at minimizing the impact on emerging countries from sudden capital flows.

   Taking lessons from its own experience, South Korea wants to teach impoverished nations "how to catch fish" rather than give away fish.

   South Korea is a country that has changed its status from recipient of international aid to donor. It joined the OECD's Development Assistance Committee (DAC), a club of two dozen benefactors.

   "The three major tasks in the Seoul summit will be to review the implementation of agreements at the four previous sessions, start discussions on the new agenda items and lay a solid footing for the institutionalization of the G-20," the researcher said. "After all, the Seoul session will be a watershed for the future of the G-20."
