Booyoung Co., Ltd, a mid-sized builder in Korea, has donated 6,300 pianos to the Thailand education authority, as part of its efforts to honor veterans who participated in the Korean War 60 years ago, the company said on Wednesday.
The donation ceremony was held at a school in Bangkok with Booyoung chairman Lee Joong-keun and members of the Thai association of veterans who fought in the 1950-53 Korean War attending.
The number of pianos offered for schools are meant to honor the 6,300 Thais who fought in the war, the company said.
The builder has been supporting schools in three Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam and Laos with education facilities and equipment.
